Resume

Experience

C++ developer for operational research

June 2023 - Now
GIRO, Montréal, QC Canada
  • Developement, documentation and maintenance of optimization algorithms in the field of public transportation.

PhD thesis work

Sep. 2019 - Dec. 2022
Laboratoire LERIA, University of Angers, France
  • Design of a flexible and interpretable evolutionary algorithm for the optimization of various molecular properties. Implementation of the algorithm in a software library (EvoMol) that is meant to be maintained and to be accessible to users that are not necessarily computer scientists.
  • Proposal of a surrogate-based optimization method to optimize with low cost molecular properties that depend on a costly evaluation. The surrogate function is a machine learning model that estimates the values of the costly property of interest.
  • Explainable artificial intelligence : generation of counterfactual explanations for machine learning classifiers of molecular properties.

Teaching

Sep. 2019 - June 2022
University of Angers, France
  • 192h of teaching over three years, mainly to an audience of BSc and MSc students.
  • Entry-level programming and advanced programming (design patterns).
  • Supervision of several internal graduation internships for BSc students.
  • Also includes a machine learning practical formation for an audience of high school teachers.

Representative of doctoral students at the council of the LERIA laboratory
